    Windows 1903 update. Computer Freezes. Help!


    Since the Windows 1903 update my computer screen turns black when I leave it un-attended for 20 minutes or so. If I press escape on the keyboard, the desktop re-appears but is frozen. I have to press the power button on the side of the monitor to turn computer off. Also if I am playing a youtube etc video after a while the screen freezes.


    I have updated drivers and tinkered with power options but neither has helped.


    Here's details of my system: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz

    Installed Memory (RAM) 8.00 B (7.88 GB usable)

    System type: 64 bit Operating System, x64 based processor

    Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

    had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

    Windows Home 10 update from 1803 to 1903

    I have windows 10 x64 home edition, version 1803.

    I'm trying to update it to the new onw, version 1903, but my pc freezes every time when the installation is going to finish (around 80%).

    I tried to update the OS in different ways:

    1. Start > Settings > Update
      & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.
      If updates are available, install them.
    2. Download the Update Assistant
    3. Download the Media Creation Tool 1903
    The result is always the same.

    No errors, only pc freezing.

    What do you suggest to do?
