Windows 10: Windows 22H2 update Lenovo Firmware 1.0.0.16

Hi, I have Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 5 , I have updated to latest bios update from Lenovo 1.16 3/2/2023.today windows 1122H2 shows a new firmware update 1.0.0.16 as shown in the attached photo ..I just need to know is this a bios update come via windows update ?in addition there is a firmware drive in Device Manger 1.0.0.14 Pls check the second attched photo.Do I have to install this update from windows update .Thanks all,

speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware !?

I am seeing several messages in the event log shortly after I boot (the adapter message appears earlier than the processor messages):

• A command sent to the adapter has timed out. The adapter did not respond.
• The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware.
  The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.
• The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware.
  The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.
• The speed of processor 2 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware.
  The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.
• The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware.
  The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.

What could be causing this? My firmware is up-to-date.

 

I didn't receive Windows 22H2 update yet

It probably hasn't been rolled out for your computer! Have you checked with Lenovo to see if they provide a list of computers that have been tested and approved for Windows 11 22H2?

I own all Dell's and did not have any problems getting the 11 22H2 update. Dell has provided a list of computers that are approved for use with the update.

 

Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:

• New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
• CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
• Package change to Halide free package

Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
