Windows 10: Windows 7 fails to update to Windows 10

I reserved my copy of windows 10. I have tried to update it plenty of time but every time i do it fails during the second boot, it stops at 93% and goes to a black screen for a while, than it says "restoring back to your previous version of windows" I dont know what to do. I tried mostly everything. I deleted all the files in the software distribution and went into command prompt and put in wuauclt.exe /updatenow that didnt work. I downloaded the windows tool directly from windows that didnt work. Can someone help me? Should I call Microsoft. Is anyone else having this problem?*cry

Did you remember to shutoff and remove security and toolbars and run cleanup disk prior to upgrading ?

 

Remove toolbars from where? Internet browser?

This hasnt helped neither, I give up at this point, very frustrating

 

Join the club have been trying for three days with no joy no one seems to know how to fix it not even Microsoft .

As a last resort I am redoing the iso disks only this time I am useing english us as the last time I burnt disks I did the language as uk.

 

I put the iso on a usb, but i hear ppl have problems with that too

 

Well God bless Microsoft I now have Windows 10 was in the process of downloading & burning new ISO in English us as the uk one did not work accidently clicked on windows app while setting up game on wife's old xp m/c like I am an old fart in my 70's & thought bugger it I am busy guess what it went all the way through & set up, this was without stopping anything virus checkers & everything was running Microsoft has done something to rectify the problem note all your programs are now listed as apps you will find them when you left click on the windows start icon left hand side bottom.
Give it another try hope you succeed.
