Windows 10: Windows 7 Professional 32 bit will not upgrade to Windows 10

I have an HP Compaq dx7500 Small Form Factor running Windows 7 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601.


I tried to use the Windows 10 Media Creation tool 1909 File version: 10.0.18362.418 and it will not work. It boots once after installing to a Windows 10 screen, then reverts back to Windows 7 with an

error message: "the installation has failed during SAFE_OS with error in operation REPLICATE_OC"

With the error code: "0x8007001F - 0x20006"


I have tried saving to thumb drive and loading from there, I went and bought DVD+R to create a bootable DVD that just rattled my drive, so I took them back. I tried turning off the Firewall and Ethernet connection. I booted in Clean mode after disabling all the start services. I deleted all the programs I didn't need. I uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials.


Anything else that might help? Or is this madness to get me to go buy the $150 program? Am I too late? I noticed 2016 might have been the cutoff date?

I have a windows 7 32 bit professional can i upgrade to windows 10 64-bit ?

 

Windows 10 Upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit

So, Windows 10 Upgrade is being rolled out worldwide, and I have 'reserved' my upgrade.

Currently my computer is running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I'm planning to 'upgrade' it to Windows 10 64-bit (via fresh install, of course).

After reading many references, these will be the steps I'll do:

1. Let the "Get Windows 10" app upgrade my OS to Windows 10 32-bit
   
2. Note the activation key
   
3. Download the Installation Media for Windows 10, but choosing 64-bit instead
   
4. Perform a clean install
   
5. Reactivate using the activation key in Step #2
   

(Of course I'll backup my data first.)

However, I still have some questions:

1. On Windows 7, the activation key does not differ between 32- or 64-bit versions. Is it still so with Windows 10?
   
2. Will I be able to download a different architecture on Step #3?
   
3. Is there anything I need to prepare beforehand?

Windows 7 Home Premium -> Professional Upgrade

I think it will work.

System Builder always includes a 32-bit or 64-bit disk.

All Windows 7 keys work for both 32-bit and 64-bit. You can switch so long as you have the media (ISO/DVD) but switching between 32-bit and 64-bit requires a clean install.

What you linked has no media, only the key. Just follow the instructions @newtekie1 gave in post #7 and it should be good to go so long as the key is legitimate.
