Jesse I want you to list the exact make and model of your desktop.

    I will find the specs.

Didn`t you read what I wrote, Come on Man *Mad

Download and install Speccy it will tell you a lot about the hardware (the specs) of your pc.

    Speccy - Free Download

Then use Dude`s tutorial to fill in your specs at the bottom left corner of your posts.

Because, I don't really like the dual boot configuration. If I do a dual boot, will I be able to get it off dual boot when the Technical Preview expires. If so, I will need help with that.

  5. I am sorry about that AddRAM. I have used Speccy, and it never loads on my system. The same thing goes for that other program that I cant think of right now. My desktop is an Acer Aspire AXC-603G-UW12 with Windows 8.1 64-bit. (1 TB Hard Drive).

  6. Sounds like a plan. That will give you plenty of time to figure out how to create a system image of your Win7 or Win8 machine and do your data backups.

And you can poke around here learning about Win10 as other members test it.

Speccy: II'm not sure why it doesn't run on your machine, Try the portable version (no install - also ignore the advanced comment - it just means you won't get shortcuts...)
    Speccy - Builds

You want the lower one on the page. BTW, you can put it on a thumbdrive if you want.

. Bill, the portable version doesn't work either. I had my 8.1 desktop worked on by Acer recently, because it wouldn't sleep right, would shut itself down, and wouldn't shut down when I asked it to. So, I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. Do you know of another one I can try? There is another one that I have tried, and it wont work either. I cant think of the name of it.

  10. Yes, I have this site on my phone and my laptop. Now, I am a little bit nervous about this. Because, I really don't want this to mess up my computer. This computer is new, and it is a personal computer.

  11. Careful there - he has four partitions!
    Initialized GPT, no problem
Initialized MBR - problem trying to create a 5th part.
Diskpart or part wizard will tell you.

Jesse - you can run system information (WinKey+R - enter msinfo32 in the Run box)

Save as text, then edit the text and remove the sensitive information, give me a minute to run one and I'll be more specific. but go ahead and run, the save as text.
Don't post it until you edit out the key or s/n or service tag.

We've gotta find out what it's going to let you do, that Recovery Partition is a question.

K, now we know it will let you shrink it and you have lots of room, (you should give the new partition 100GB (102,400MB), BUT, first things first.
Do you have an image backup? Recovery Discs?
What W10 ISO do you have and is it ready to go onto a bootable usb stick?

  15. I have a repair disk. I downloaded it last night to a disk, and it said the file was corrupt. So, I will probably have to make a new one and it will probably take a while to download it.
