Windows 10: Windows action center failure, many solutions have failed.

Hello dear people of the community. I know the title is pretty straightforward and much predictable. But I think my case is somewhat special.

First, if you have to know these kind of information, I'm running Windows 10 Pro on the bootcamp drive of my Macbook.


I've been googling about this situation for a long period of time, and found that almost the entire people with the action center problem are having the same issue with the windows button as well.

Actually, the problem of mine is different. I can open and use my windows menu perfectly fine, and so do the windows search. And I've seen some of those who report that the action center won't just open, but mine seems to be working "only until that stage". I can open my action center clicking the icon on the taskbar, and it wont display anything. It's just an empty, semi-transparent black panel popping up that shows nothing but the buttons 'Tablet mode, Network, all settings, and Nearby Sharing' on the bottom of the panel, even though it's supposed to have any notification as I can recognize the icon saying that there is(the white lighted, notebook-like lines and the number of notification on top of the icon.) When I just open the notification center panel, the number of the notifications just goes out meaning that they are read, while I'm seeing absolutely nothing on the panel.

For example, if I eject an USB drive, on a normal computer, on the bottom right corner will be the pop-up message that says 'the disk is safe to remove', and if the panel is opened, it will have the exact same notification listed there. But mine doesn't show any popup message even before the panel, and neither on the panel.


Also, as I previously described, I tried several solutions: SFC, DISM, Explorer Restart, Computer Restart, Renaming the UsrClass.dat to UsrClass.dat.old (this one failed to perform because of the warning saying 'this file is being used by Windows so you cannot rewrite this file). The solution I haven't tried is re-installing the entire Windows, as it deletes all of the drivers and apps I've installed, and I don't want that.


Any other 'working' solution would be incredibly appreciated!

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.

Action Center

Hi,

Let's follow these steps to disable action center:

• Click on Start, type notifications in the search box.
• In the list, select notifications & action settings.
• On the right side, click on turn system icons on or off.
• Turn off action center from there.
