Windows 10: windows activation error after update error code:0x80004005

I have window 10 build 1803 with a digital license key linked to my account. but when I updated to latest version 1909 by using window update assistant successfully. but it shows activation error code: 0x800004005. what should I do for fix the problem. troubleshoot the problem it show try installing the window 10 home. to fix window activation error go back to previous version by using recovery. then activation is ok but window version is older.

tell me 1909 version requires new product key ? or use with previous digital license key?

Error 0x80004005

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
