Windows 10: Windows apps wont open/instacrash if they do open

Hello, all my windows apps stopped working a few days ago... Ive tried a lot of different things. Ive tried resetting the store app, using the troubleshooter, restarting my computer, reseeding all my ssds and hard drives along with the graphics card, ram, and all the power plugs. Ive tried restora, and scanning malaware, scanning for viruses. uninstalling the store and reinstalling it. Ive tried a soft reset of windows keeping all my personal files and ive tried a full system reset deleting everything. Right now im running a brand new fresh installation of windows, and the windows apps are still broken. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused

Can I customize the list of suggest apps in the "Open with" menu?

You can't use it to add additional programs, only to set default programs.

Interestingly for me it shows nothing for text files:








Then if I want to add a portable app like Jarte Plus to open with context menu windows doesn't like it.





It's not present and is near impossible to add even via "look for an app on this PC"
