    Windows audio needs to be reconfigured every time my tv monitor goes to sleep


    I am using a tv as my computer monitor, connected via HDMI. Every time the screen goes to sleep or the connection is otherwise interrupted, when I get on my computer again the audio does not work, and I have to go through troubleshoot sound problems to select my tv as output again. Is there any way that i can make my computer remember my tv monitor's audio output?

    Just an updating and some finding.
    First of all: the Audio enhancer software DFX is not part of the problem.
    The problem rests with HDMI audio of a monitor TV Samsumg after sleep. The Audio service is not resumed after sleep. Before the upgrading to Win 8.1. in the same computer the resumption odf audio was regular. As now, audio restart after rebooting or i have to turn off the monitor tv before sleep, a kind of annoyance.

    Any suggestion?

    Okay, so like your OP says, monitor sleep causes a 2-3 second glitch in audio to external speakers, but then the audio continues to same external speakers after 2-3 second glitch period is over.

    Very odd ........ I don't have any suggestions ATM.

    A thought: is Audio DFX Audio Enhancer something you can disable to see if it fixes this issue?

    Hi,

    Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows ( ) key + X.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Click Hardware & Sound.
    • Click Manage Audio Devices.
    • Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
    • Click Set as default and click Ok.

    Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

    Let us know how it goes.
