Windows 10: Windows blank screen

A MS support agent rolled back my computer to a previous critical update and now my brand new computer won't even boot. Blank screen. This was an attempt to "fix" the new Windows 10 bug of applications not allowing you to choose their default opening program.


I have attempted every single recovery option; system restore fails, resetting fails and using a USB drive fails. I can only access recovery mode or BIOS. It either shows me a blank screen (win10 usb drive) or loads up the original Windows recovery from the SSD, which cannot do anything. That or it blank screens.


I have had several other agents all taking remote control access over my old PC and just re-installing Windows 10 USB/iso boot managers. So now I am stuck with a blank PC.


I waited a little while when attempt to boot from the USB blank screen, and heard three error notifications. The second two were closer together if this means anything to anyone. It may be a driver issue?

Screen goes blank after changing BIOS settings/

I don't know how long this has been happening, a few weeks at least, but whenever I change a setting in my BIOS (and save & exit), my screen goes blank and my monitor goes into standby. Any suggestions to fix this?

Black screen error has many symptoms. Examples are: when you recently updated your computer, there are changes that are still applying during the boot process, and you are in the process of installing a software. To have a better grip on this blank
screen issue, we’d like to know the following:

• Are you using a Microsoft account or local account?
• What were the recent changes made on your computer before you experienced this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Did you receive any error messages? If yes, can you send us a photo?

• What is the make and model of your computer?

• How much free space do you have on your hard disk?
