  1. Windows Boot Error

I recently installed a Windows update on my wife’s computer Surface Pro 3. I installed one, then it prompted me that another update was available. I believe that it was an accessory update if I remember correctly. With both updates, it said that not enough disk space was available, so it asked me if I wanted to download it to an SD card that was plugged in. I accepted. After the second update, it said that it failed, so I restarted to try again. The computer then booted straight into WinRE. I was able to recover files by decrypting the files with bitlocker and then booting Linux from a USB drive. Is there some sort of fix to make it boot properly again? I have another Win 10 machine that I can make a boot disk from, but I don’t have another Windows license, so I would have to pay for another license right? unless I’m able to recover the original Windows on the Surface, right? Any suggestions how to do that? My wife doesn’t have any restore points, so that isn’t an option. Any help is appreciated. I’ll be monitoring this thread closely, so please ask any clarifying questions, and I’ll get back asap.

    :)
