Windows 10: Windows breaking after update

Hi all, really hoping someone can help me with this. Until about a month ago my PC was completely fine, then it said it had to update so I restarted. Only for it to crash during boot sequence. It was obvious that it had completely broken windows since windows went into automatic repair and couldn't retrieve any data from my main drive. Even after I reinstalled, windows seemed to do a weird bug where it would say I had updates to install, but when I tried to it would just shut down, restart, then shut down again. It would not install any updated no matter how many times I tried to reinstall. Then today, I shut down my pc the same way as had been normal for the past month (ie clicking the button saying "Update and shut down", expecting it to not do anything) and it tried to install updated. No surprise, it broke windows again and I'm currently not even able to reinstall ("There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.).

Really hope someone can help, my PC is good spec and definitely not out of date to receieve these updates. Thanks.

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Apologies for the late reply.



Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

Still can't reproduce. Could you please post the exact BIOSes that produce the issue?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
