Windows 10: Windows Calendar and People Storage

From my understanding, Windows Calendar does not store my personal events on my local hard drive, but in the cloud. Online for lack of a better term.

What would happen if, for some reason, I lost access to the web?

Would I be do do out of luck?

Is there another way to access my events.

Considering Using Calendar, Mail and People

It is not that simple, and it depends on how you use those Apps and what is synced or not to your Accounts, and the Privacy Policies of those Accounts.

The same would apply to any other Mail App, Calendar, or People/Contacts list. Fully featured or not.

The Calendar App itself does not have to be synced to any Accounts server('cloud' storage). That is in the Apps Settings, Menu, Options etc, take a look that is the only way to find out.

If you just want an electronic version of a piece of paper Calendar then none are of these are suitable as it is all too easy to configure them wrong.

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

If the Calendar is not synching in PC I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you.

Let's try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: I suggest you to run the
Troubleshooter for Windows App and see if it helps to resolve the issue.

Step 2: If the issue persists, then I suggest you to
remove and reconfigure the account back in the Mail app.


Reconfiguring the account should force it to sync again and resolve the issue.
