  1. Windows cannot find FILE. Make sure you've typed the name correctly, then try again.

So I installed Unity game engine and had some problems with it. So I uninstalled and tried again. Except there's an error when I try to install. Then I realised, I still have some Unity files on my computer. But, when I try to uninstall, the message in the title appears. What do I do to uninstall it? I don't really know how to do some of the more complicated stuff.

    :)

Windows cannot find 'C:\users (insert file directory)' make sure you've typed the name correctly.

Since the latest Windows 10 update I've been unable to open anything in 'my pictures' folder with a double click. I get the following error message every time I attempt to open a picture file or video file: Windows cannot find 'C:\users (insert file
    directory
)' make sure you've typed the name correctly.

    • I've looked at my folder's options and 'quick access' is not set.
    • I can open the files by right clicking and selecting 'open with'.
    • I've found no issues after running 'sfc /scannow'.

    Please help!

    Thanks.

  3. windows cannot find Make sure you typed the name correctly. and then try again

    Thanks for the respond

The exact error message is actually similiar for each app. The different only on the Path. For example

    - when I tried to open task manager => Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again

    - The other app, for example, the NVIDIA GeForce experience => Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\NVIDIA GeForce.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

This happens in every app when I tried to open it as Administrator

The idea is my laptop couldn't find the '.exe'. file but the files were there in the directory.

    Here's my PC detail

    Windows 10 Home Single Language

    Version 1607

    OS Build 14393.2007

System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I've done the startup troubleshooting as it mentions above, but it said it couldn't repair the pc.

Windows cannot find 'C:\File Address'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Hi Leo. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator. If you will work with me I will be here to help until the issue is resolved.

    1) See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

If the problem repeats then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool
    explained here:
    https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

    2) See fixes for the error here:

    3) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue
with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
