Windows cant get past date/time screen

I just started having an issue today. I am running windows 10 and did an update yesterday before turning off my computer. My computer boots to windows time/date screen with no issues. I can access bios durring this boot time.

Once i get to the time/date screen however any input using my mouse or keyboard, or just waiting roughly 5 seconds causes the screen to flicker between long periods of black, and the windows time/date screen.

I have read many other question posts about similar issues, but none of the solutions seem to be of help. I cannot access the power button to shift restart, as it is located on the login screen. I do not have a physical copy of windows. While forcing restart 3 times does seem to do something. It only seems to increase boot time and shows me the spinning circle before going to the time/date screen.

I have never had a similar issue before and assume it must be software, my keyboard is working because it lets me access bios, i can see my mouse cursor on screen. And bios displays with no flickering on my monitor. It maybe noteworthy that i didnt see the usual finishing updates screen when i first booted my computer today.

    :)

  2. Can't get past time date screen.

    Hello Lucinda,

There can be a number of reasons for this kind of issue to occur. Please tell us more about your concern. Answer the following questions:

    • When did the issue start?
    • Did you make any system setting changes prior to the issue?
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • Are you experiencing the same issue when using a different mouse?
In the meantime, we suggest unplugging the input device while in the date and time screen then plug it back again. Windows should automatically detect the devices if it's working well. If the issue persists, try using a different USB mouse.

We'll be waiting for your response.
