Windows 10: Windows changed default keyboard layout after update

Hi


My copy of windows 10 recently self updated to... I think it was the April update. No idea why it was so late. Anyway, with that update, Windows changed a lot of my default settings, and does not seem to be very keen on letting me change them back. The biggest annoyance is that it keeps switching keyboard layout on startup to English. I'm from Sweden, so I obviously want a Swedish keyboard layout, and I've got my system language set to English, as I simply prefer it that way. Switching keyboard layout is not a huge issues, left alt + shift does that, but it's easy to forget about it, and I'll end up typing something, only to then realize that I need to go back and fix things, as certain characters are on different keys.


I've tried to force Windows to use the Swedish keyboard layout as its default (Settings -> Devices -> Typing -> Advanced Keyboard settings)





Yet every time I boot up windows, it's again defaulting to using an English Keyboard layout. Am I doing something wrong here, or is Windows just being buggy?

I've also had some issues with Windows changing how it displays time, but Windows seems to finally have stopped trying to display time using the 12h system. Why does windows keep reverting to the 12h system when it receives a major update, should it not keep my settings?

How to change the default keyboard layout shortcut.

I would like to inform you that presently you may change the default keyboard layout by pressing
Windows key + space and I would like to inform you that it is not possible to change the keyboard shortcut for the keyboard layout.

• If you would like to create shortcut for the applications, please follow the below steps:
• Right click on the application and select properties.
• Enter a key combination in the Shortcut key field. The combination must be CTRL + ALT + a letter / number.

  How many keyboard language have you installed?
  

If you have installed more than 1 keyboard language in your system, then I suggest you to remove the keyboard language other than default language and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to remove the language.

  Open Control panel.

  Click on language.
  
• 
  Select the language and click on remove option at the top.
