    It is unclear what you want. You can enable Classic theme. You can also disable DWM if you wish. What exactly you mean under bells and whistles?

    Thanks! This is part of what I was looking for.

    It's kind of unclear to me, too *Smile What I'm looking to do is to remove from the GUI anything that might be taking up a lot of resources, if it can be removed.

    I remember reading that the Aero GUI in Win7 took up like a GB of memory. So I'm looking to change anything of that sort to a more standard Win XP or earlier GUI.

    Windows Classic Look Theme in Windows 10

    But it does require more resources than a pedestrian pre Win7 interface. So I'm wondering if there's anything of that sort that I can turn off in Win10. For ex. like the previews of windows when you hover over them on the start bar, transparent start bar and start menu, stuff like that.
