Windows 10: windows computer screen

my computer now brings up a white overlay screen with the menus on the left. it used to not be there, it would be my normal background and have files on the left hand side. does anyone know how to get it back to that? i have disabled the new update and turned off tablet mode but i’m not sure what else to do. thanks in advance

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

Friends computer freezing at windows loading screen

Ok my friend is having problems with his computer right now. Basically it crashed on the windows loading screen. This is what he told me on MSN.

Now i'm not too sure what the problem is. I suggested doing a repair install with the xp disk (i'll be giving him that tomorrow) but in the mean time do any of you have any ideas?
