  1. Windows constantly tries to restart, PC Dell XPS 15 9570; 16 gb ram 512 gb ssd

I've dual booted ubuntu 18.04 with windows as I wanted to do ML, but I couldn't connect to nvidia drivers and as i searched online what i found was to boot pc into insecure mode by some mokutil disable validation command to put into ubuntu terminal. Still no results, no connection to drivers. I thought let's start all over again so i unallocate ubuntu partition and try to restart. I was stuck at Grub windows saying minimal BASH like line editing. Tried to exit from there entered windows and while loading it attempted restart. tried this for a while and some alterations in BIOS setup, nothing worked. Then I remembered I still have that disk unallocated and installed ubuntu into it. So basically this is what my ubuntu grub window shows me right now when tried to restart.

I go to windows boot manager and it tries to load up and then reboots. I went to bios and altered sequence of startup gave first priority to windows and it went into constant loop of restarting and failing. I altered the sequence back again and here I am typing this from ubuntu. Been trying to solve this Issue from last 7 hrs.

  2. Upgrade my 2012 Dell XPS with Intel i7/8GB RAM 512 GB SSD to Win 10?

    All,

I had purchased a Dell XPS 15 laptop in 2012 with the following specifications:

    Windows 7 Pro

    Intel i7 2.2 GHz Processor

    8 GB RAM

changed the Hard disk 512 GB Samsung EVO SSD 1 year ago

However, recently (last 1 month) the computer has been running very slow (and with very slow wifi/internet speeds, most times less than 1 mbps on a 16mbps connection) and the fan constantly running at full speed and Battery showing "Consider replacing your
    battery" message.

Please advise what should i do to make my machine run as fast as earlier?

    - Will replacing battery with a new one help?

    - Should i upgrade to Window 10 from my current Win 7 Pro to have better performance?

    - Is overheating of machine internals (processor) making my machine slow? Do i need to clean the machine/fan inside for better cooling?

I am not looking at replacing my computer for at least another 2 years.

    Thanks,

    Mayur

  3. how to upgrade Ram from 8 to 16 gb?

Hey Madan. This is not a Windows issue or Microsoft issue but I'll try to help.

To go from 8 GB RAM to 16 GB. You will have to actually purchase COMPATIBLE 16 GB sticks of RAM then install them. Dell Inspiron might have more information on what kind of RAM is compatible with your PC.

Getting more RAM is not a simple troubleshooting fix and if you are on a laptop, it might be impossible.
