Windows 10: Windows continues to want to update Office XP SP3, but I have NEVER had Office XP on this...

For many years now, Windows keeps trying to update/install Office XP Service Pack 3 on my laptop. It has happened on three different laptops over the years, each with Windows 7, then Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and now Windows 10 (fully updated except the Creators update, which hasn't come through for me yet).


Be assured that I have NEVER... EVER... had Office XP installed on ANY of those laptops. Never. Not even a trace.


I do have Office installed, but NOT the XP version. Even after purchasing a brand new laptop, Windows Update keeps trying to install Office XP Service Pack 3. But the new laptop has NEVER had Office XP on it. Why would it??? It's Windows 10, NOT XP!!


I have tried to find a solution for this, but no one has any answers.


PLEASE... can you tell me how to get rid of this update!

If my new,computer has never had XP (it came with Windows 7, which I updated to Windows 10 and then added Office 365), why is Windows Update trying to update Office XP?

Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3 was distributed in March 2004. TWELVE YEARS AGO!

I have never had anything as old as Office XP or XP on this PC. Is there something wrong with Windows Update?

I have always trusted it to help keep my PCs up-to-date and secure.

This challenges my confidence in Windows Update and Microsoft.
