Windows 10: “Windows could not automatically detect this network’s proxy settings” ?!?

Hi, so something weird has been happening with my internet on any windows pc. I noticed this after I recently changed my internet modem from the one my ISP provides to an Asus CM-16. The setup was easy any everything seemed to work fine on all the connected devices, EXCEPT any device running Windows 10. I have literally tried all the solutions suggested online, from resetting the network adapter to doing command prompts to restarting my modem & router. Every time i try using the internet on any of my windows 10 devices the internet is super slow and stops loading; I run network troubleshooter and i get “windows couldnt detect proxy settings” error every time with no suggested solution. All my proxy settings are set to auto and im not even using a proxy server. Im at a complete loss and would appreciate anyone with advanced knowledge on this issue!

Hi - Just so you know, I'm marking this "problem solved". I found this online How to Solve the Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings Error. Doing the last step under #2 is what solved the problem. McAvee is still scanning incoming. McAvee & Malwarebytes still show no problems with a full scan. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I've only had this desktop a month. Suddenly I couldn't connect to the Internet. I powercycled the network box router & got my Ethernet connection back. Internet functioning SEEMS to be normal, but I still get "Windows could not automatically detect this network’s proxy settings” when I run the Network & Internet Settings troubleshooter. Then I tried the Network Adapter troubleshooter for Ethernet & it said "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem". This is a home computer. My proxy settings are attached.

Is there a set of steps to resolve this problem? Thanks very much.

• Type Proxy in the search box on the taskbar, and then click on
  Network proxy settings.
• Under Automatic Proxy setup, set Automatically detect settings bar to ON.
• Under Manual Proxy settings, set Use a proxy server bar to OFF.
• Click on Save.
