Windows 10: windows could not configure one or more system files

I have been having this problem for a while now and have not made any headway on fixing it. I have not been unable to update my windows due to this error and its starting to urk me especially with the upcoming may 2020 update. I have tried everything from reverting windows updates to trying and failing to delete the files from my machine keys folder. every option has done nothing to solve my problem so any and all input to try and fix this would be appreciated. thanks.

System Configuration Settings Wont Do Anything

It seems that some system files are corrupted. We suggest performing SFC scan to repair corrupted system files. Just follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click Command Prompt(Admin).
• On the Command Prompt, type sfc/scannow and press Enter.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
