Windows 10: windows defender appearing blank

for some unknown reason, whenever i try to run defender, it looks like this. i can't scan files for virus, and i've spent a few hours troubleshooting, and in services.msi i'm unable to reset. I've restarted wuauserV, msiserver, cryptSvc, and bits (fixing error 0x80080005 along the way) but the antivirus still won't activate. I like to think i'm fairly well versed in tech, but this is beyond my abilities. Hope i provided enough info. (win10)

p.s. i also factory reset (save the documents) on my laptop in november, and iirc that's around when it stopped working. i'm not sure that it's a virus, as i've torrented a few things but they've all been from trusted sources. (trusted on the bay and from an associate who's used the google drive file i used)

Windows features wouldn't show on windows 10, appears blank!

I installed windows 10 on my pc, I am trying to enable my .net framework and I understand that the way to go about this is through windows features, however my windows features box appears blank, I can't find the checkbox with all the options, I have followed the steps listed on various websites (run services.msc, enable modules installer if not already enabled etc,) still nothing! I would really appreciate if someone could assist me here. Thanks

 

Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front


Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
2. Select or click Ease of Access.
3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
5. Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
