    Windows Defender - can't view history Error code: 0x8007007e


    I suspect defender is blocking an executible I need, but I can't verify this because I can't view history. As soon as I click the "view details" button I get a The module could not be found error with the error code in the subject.

    Hello,

    I cannot turn on Windows Defender on my Windows 10 laptop.

    There is no other anti-virus program installed.

    I received error code 0x8007007e.

    Can someone help me start-up Windows Defender

    windows 10 microsoft security update error code 0x8007007e

    I keep getting the window to have security updates for Microsoft but every time I go to install it gives me the error code 0x8007007e and I cant find anything to help fix it. in my update history it keeps listing failed installations of 'update for windows
    10 version 1607 for x64-based systems (KB4049411) - Error 0x8000ffff' or 'update for windows 10 version 1607 for x64-based systems (KB4033631) - Error 0x8000ffff' and 'feature update to windows 10, version 1709 - Error 0x8007007e

    ........please tell me how I can fix this. its incredibly frustrating.
