Windows 10: Windows defender couldnot update

When I Update my Windows defender , I am getting the following error

Windows and Spyware definition couldn't be updated

:)

 

antivirus couldnot update spyware

i dont know man my windows defender is failing to update

Did you restart the computer? Sometimes that will fix such update issues.

Note the statement "If you want to use Windows Defender Antivirus, uninstall all of your other antivirus programs and Windows Defender Antivirus will automatically turn on. You may be asked to restart your device."







The behavior you are describing may occasionally occur if another antivirus program is installed or there are remnants of a third party antivirus program still installed.





Go to Security and Maintenance, look in 'Security' and see what program is listed under Virus Protection. Windows Defender will not be enabled and functioning properly if there is a program other than Windows Defender listed.





Suggest you follow the steps recommended in Problems
starting Windows Defender in Windows 8/8.1/10 to include (but not limited to) running SFC, scanning for malware with Malwarebytes and running the software removal tools for any
security software (AVG, Baidu, Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton, whatever) to include a trial versions of McAfee or Norton that may have previously been on the computer followed by a restart of the computer? List of
