Windows 10: Windows Defender full scan not working! Help!

Hello, my windows defender has recently stopped functioning properly, and I'm not sure why. I haven't downloaded any malware.

I have just reset this device in hopes that it would fix it -- but it has still not fixed. The only programs I have at the moment are: google, powerpoint, ROBLOX, discord & lightshot.


I have ran both DISM and SFC scans, both of which showed errors with the device, but "could not repair".


I have tried using a different microsoft account too, to no avail.

I have also checked the exclusions folder, and my powerplan is set to high performance with all sleeps on never.


Can someone please help?

This issue might occur if you have set any task scheduler for Windows Defender.

I suggest you to delete the task for Windows defender and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Search and open Schedule tasks.
  
• 
  In the left-hand menu, open the Task Scheduler Library, then select
  Microsoft >Windows >Windows Defender.
  
• 
  Double-click Windows Defender Scheduled Scan.
  
• 
  Select the Triggers panel, then select Delete.
