Windows 10: Windows Defender Network Inspection Service fails to start

Repeating Event ids 7000 and 7001 in Windows 10 version 2004 - Windows Defender Network Service fails to start, as "existing buffer is not applicable for this operation" or something like that.

The service is set to Manual, an attempt to launch it manually results in error 1068 - "the dependency service failed to start"

Windows security gives no warnings or malfunction signs in settings.

Anything to do about it?

Windows Defender disabled and is unable to start


Hi guys!

I finally managed to fix my Windows Defender. I had to restore the service using registry key. And also make changes in the registry using steps mentioned on articles online.

I restored the WD default registry key through the steps provided here this restored my service of Windows defender.

Services - Restore Default Services in Windows 8

It seems that the registry key for WD of Windows 8.1 is same as that of Windows 10.

I also followed the steps mentioned here:

So far it's working fine. Will report back if I see anything weird pop up as I did fiddle with the registry keys.

Windows Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service high ram usage

Windows Network Realtime Inspection Service (Windows Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service)

is using high amounts of memory, currently 3,340.5MB.

This is gradually increasing everyday, regardless or reboots/scans/updates etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Problem with starting Windows Defender service

Hi

I have tried the processes shown but when I enter services.msc and attempt to start both of the services for windows defender there are two problems

Windows defender network inspection service will NOT allow a change to automatic?

Windows Defender Service will not start and I get the following message

"The Windows Defender Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"

So it will not start. I have no other anti virus or anti malware software running
