    Windows Defender Quick Scans Issues


    Laptop PC running Win 10 Pro, 64-bit, v21H1. Running only Windows Defender with new viral definitions files being installed regularly via Windows Update. This PC has never had any other anti-viral software installed. The Windows Defender icon in notification area had a yellow alert and WD screen said a Quick Scan was due. Clicked to start Quick Scan and it showed increasing numbers of files scanned and increasing time running, but it ran for hours and hours without finsihing. The previously logged Quick Scan was ~2 weeks ago, took only ~4 min, and scanned ~53K files. Stopped the scan, reboo

    Windows Defender - Quick Scan

    Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

    My options are:

    • Scan
    • Advanced Scan
    • Full Scan
    • Custom Scan
    • Windows Defender Offline scan
    Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

    Is a quick scan available?

    How do I restore this feature?

    Issue with Quick Scan in Windows Defender

    I just installed Windows 10 build 1803, but I no longer have a Quick Scan in Windows Defender, only Full Scan, Custom Scan and Windows Defender Offline Scan.

    Is there no more Quick Scan or did something get screwed up... build 1803 was successfully installed?

    Windows Defender Quick Scan question

    I just did a quick scan on my computer, when it was done in notifications area got message: Windows Defender scanned your PC At 1:42:10 on 2/28/2017 and took action against malicious software, but the windows defender screen said: Scan completed no threats
    detected during this scan. There is nothing listed in the history either, what does this mean?
