Windows 10: windows defender- Unable to add exclusions

Discus and support windows defender- Unable to add exclusions in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; I'm using windows 10. I find that my antimalware service executable uses 27-30% of my cpu resources in times when I need to use it for other purposes...     windows defender- Unable to add exclusions


    I'm using windows 10. I find that my antimalware service executable uses 27-30% of my cpu resources in times when I need to use it for other purposes which are important to me. As everyone knows that we can't kill this service in task manager, please someone help me how to stop this by adding it to the exclusions in windows security. I have my seperate antivirus software installed but then also windows defender doesn't stop its activity and use of cpu resources. I have seen in the web that I could use registry to kill the service. If it's good to use that way please reply.

    Thank you for posting back. If you trust a file, file type, folder, or a process that Windows Defender Antivirus has detected as malicious, you can stop Windows Defender Antivirus from alerting you or blocking the program by adding the file to
    the exclusion list. It seems that it was added automatically. We suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings and select Update & security.
    • Click Windows Defender.
    • Look for Exclusions and select Add an exclusion.
    • Navigate to the file, folder, or process, and select Exclude this file.

    If the steps provided did not work, we recommend that you boot your device to
    Safe Mode     and redo the process.

    Let us know if you need further assistance.

    This could be a possible system conflict. We need to ask you a few questions for us to isolate the problem. Please answer the following information:

    • Are you also having an issue with enabling the Cloud Based Protection and some files added to Windows Defender exclusion?
    • What troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you try performing a
    clean boot    . It will allow your device to start by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. The article provided will help us identify what causing the conflict.

    • Is this issue specific to third party apps?
    I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.


    • Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter

    • Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
