    Your right, I didn’t clock the code being different but I guess it’s all ultimately linked to the same problem. Hopefully tomorrow it’ll be sorted out

    Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Unless somebody else on the thread has a better idea, you may want to try a repair upgrade install next. It will replace your Windows runtime but will leave most everything else alone. Hopefully that will fix the problem by replacing a broken or flaky Windows installation with a new, good working one.     Nothing is more irritating to a devoted rationalist like myself than a problem that fixes itself for no apparent nor particularly good reason. I'm always glad that the problem is fixed, but remain irked that it popped up in the first place. Fortunately this is Windows, so we know it's just a matter of time before it happens again.
    Sigh.

    Exactly this.

    As an mechanic i always want to know how things work and if there is a problem i want to know why and how it happened in order to fix it.
    I needed a different state of mind when dealing with MS because that logic doesn't apply with them it appears.

    The most annoying thing is when you have a problem and go to MS support website, you get answers that doesn't make any sense.. been there done that.

    Mine is still not working and has been having issues ever since KB4052623.

    I really wish Microsoft had a repair tool or a reinstaller for Microsoft Defender.

    Probably going to have to do another windows 10 reinstall but I am pissed as I just did one a few weeks ago because the fall creators update created a ton of problems.
