Windows 10: windows defender virus definition

Discus and support windows defender virus definition in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Have upate from windows 7 to windows 10.     Have upate from windows 7 to windows 10.

    When trying to update my Virus and spyware definitions it shows me internet or network security problems.

    However all other windows updates are working fine, except for which i suspect is part of the problem the following.


    Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 Version 1.309.645.0 - Error 0x80070643


    So all other windows updates are fine except the above and subsequently i cannot update the virus definitions. I've tried to install manually using mpam-feX64.exe as suggested in the Microsoft website but no luck. Have read quite a few threads but no luck.


    Some help from microsoft would be great here as it's quite crucial for me as i cannot login to work without the latest virus definition updates.

    virus and spyware definition

    I followed the steps as suggested, and hence the problem got solved that time. But now again the virus definition is not getting updated. Its showing the same problem again. Any long term solution?
