Windows 10: Windows Defender

Good day to you all, hope you are doing well in this corona pandemic. Now I have been experiencing this issue where I can not turn windows defender firewall on.

The error I get when I try to turn on the firewall.






What have I done? I went online to do some research on how to fix this and I saw the fix that I should go into the services and try to enable it from there, but when I try to turn it on, the whole option is greyed out.





I don't know what else to try, I believe that this problem started because I had installed Malwarebytes but I uninstalled it some time ago and now it won't let me be able to turn on windows defender anymore.

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.

Let us know the result.

Windows update and windows defender issues

We suggest you to avoid installing any cleaner or anti-virus software that may interrupt the function of Windows Defender. Make sure that Windows Defender is always on. To do this follow these steps:

• On the Start menu, type Windows Defender and hit enter.
  
• Click Settings.
  
• Turn Real-time protection on.

We also recommend you to install the latest update for Windows Defender.
