    Thanks for your explanation. Why anyone would buy this app amazes me. The fix may be simple. I will check the registry to see if there are any obvious errors of ID's in the wrong place etc.

    I'm surprised the DVD Player App still works on these latest Builds, seeing as how MS would rather you rent or buy their media from the Store, than play your own!

    Bree,

    After checking the registry and deleting Windows DVD player .ifo associations I was able to solve the problem. If you are interested I can list the registry entries that I modified. The program still runs a DVD or mounted ISO so the changes are not drastic. I did notice that there was a lot of file association rubbish and redundant windows media player associations presumably as a result of the upgrade.

    I've already looked in the registry and have seen what you mean by 'a lot of file association rubbish'. I've removed other unwanted associations from the registry before, but have never seen quite so many entries as there are for .ifo.

    On the principle of not editing the registry unless it's absolutely necessary, I think I'll leave them alone. Associating .ifo with VLC is sufficient 'tidying up' for me.
