Windows 10: Windows Error when booting up The Sims 3 error code 0x800F0831

Every time I try to play The Sims 3, whether from Origin or directly, this error box pops up:


"Windows couldn't complete the requested changes.


The changes couldn't be completed. Please reboot your computer and try again.


Error code: 0x800F0805"


I have no idea what to do about this. I tried untinstalling and reinstalling Origin, I tried repairing the game files, I have rebooted my computer....I'm not a PC person, I have no idea how to solve this problem. I've been able to play this game on this computer before with zero problems. I've looked over the forums and I've seen this issue before but no one has solved it and all threads are locked.

Hey,

I have managed to run and install many different games fine from various sources (battle.net, origin, steam) but my latest game from origin isn't working. It downloaded and installed fine, but when i try to boot it i get a window pop up.

The changes couldn't be completed. Please reboot your computer and try again.

Error code: 0x800F0831

Looking at a couple of forums i think it's a .net framework issue or a windows feature issue. I've tried running a system scan to fix corrupted files, and everything comes back ok, i have tried a system restore which didn't help, i tried to download .net
framework again, but it says the lasted version is installed, I've tried a repair on .net framework but it didn't find any issues. so i went to see if it was active in the features list, and my windows features list is blank.

I don't really want to do a clean install of windows. so any other alternatives would be very helpful.

When did the error code appear? During POST? Was it a Windows bluescreen error?

when i boot in2 windows i get this error everytime, any1 have any ideas?
