Windows 10: Windows Essentials 2012

Is it safe to install Windows Essentials 2012 on a Windows 10 Surface Pro 3? Photo Gallery is what I am really after because it has a photo resize function where W10 Photo app does not.

Will Windows Essentials 2012 download to new computer with Windows 10 already installed or is there compatibility problems? From what I have read there have been problems that will not let it download. Any advice?

I see no reason why you cannot.
MS is still supporting Windows Essentials.

I don't have a Surface Pro, but I have been using Windows Essentials 2012 programs on my 2 laptops running Win 10.

Why did you use the word" safe" ?
You have heard of warning of that kind ?

 

I run Windows Essentials 2012 on my Surface Pro 3 without any issues.

 

By the way, if Photo Gallery is the only program you really want to use, why not try out 3rd party programs.

I have been using Picpick for 3 years now. It is duped as the "poor man" SnagIt.
Picpick have numerous features, one of which is resizing .

Try it out with the Free version. That's what I use since, and I use it for image editing, screenshot capturing etc etc.

No I haven't heard any warnings only being on the safe side asking here because the specs only mention up to W8.
