  1. Windows Event Viewer

So I had an issue with my audio and went through the event viewer, and found a critical issue that said:

    "Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power

    Date: 9/29/2020 7:58:57 AM

    Event ID: 41

    Task Category: 63

    Level: Critical

    Description:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

And I am wondering how I can fix that?

I also had these errors since I had an audio issue as well:

"The Audiosrv service terminated with the following error: General access denied error"

"The RtkAudioUniversalService service depends on the Audiosrv service which failed to start because of the following error:

    General access denied error"

"The Windows Audio service terminated with the following error: General access denied error"

"The Audiosrv service terminated with the following error: General access denied error"

"The RtkAudioUniversalService service depends on the Audiosrv service which failed to start because of the following error:

    General access denied error"

"Software HPAudioCenter had non-critical error 0x4D5 during installation, will retry later."

"Driver install failed, result=0x80240022 for devnode 'HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&*insert the rest because privacy'"

Yeah......so how do I fix them?

    :)

    Error in Event Viewer

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

As you have mentioned, you have performed a repair installation on the computer and you see Event 508, 510 and 533 in Event Viewer.

I would like to inform that if you see any critical error in Event Viewer, please share the event logs with us to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps. Please follow the steps mentioned below to share the event logs:

    1. Press Windows + X from the keyboard, select
      Event Viewer.
    2. Expand Windows Logs from the left pane and select
      Applications.
    3. Click Filter Current Log from extreme right pane. Then in the new windows check the box beside
      Error and click OK.
    4. Now, look for a critical Error in the list and note down the message/information from the
General Tab in the lower section.

Event Viewer problem with latest Windows Build 1607

After installing the new Windows build 1607, the Event Viewer stopped recording events under Diagnostic Performance. (Before 1607 I checked the files located under Windows.old dated 9/23/2016 and located this file which indeed did have a list of events
    recorded.)

Since the initial 1607 download there have been two new builds automatically installed on my laptop.

The last step in an automatic download is the RESTART. Prior to my rebooting, I checked the Diagnostic Performance and for sure, these had the list of events.

Rebooting by me, causes the Diagnostic Performance errors to disappear.

As suggested earlier I have run the SFC/DISM commands with no errors reported.

    Any Ideas?

    Nancy

    Windows Event Viewer

mmc could not create the snap-in in event viewer (Windows 10)

I tried the KB but didn't work.

I found this and it fixed my event viewer mmc error

    1. Open File Explorer on the device.
    2. Navigate to the following path: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Event Viewer\Views
    3. Backup the content of the folder. The next step deletes the custom views and you may want the backup to restore the views when Microsoft fixes the issues.
    4. Delete all View_X.xml files in the folder (it starts with View_0.xml and increments the number by 1 for each file).
    5. Start the Event Viewer after deleting the files.
