Windows 10: Windows Explorer doesn't show ribbon

Windows Explorer doesn't show ribbon and there's no drop-down arrow to toggle that, or Ctr+F1 has no effect.



Windows 10 Pro
Winver 20H2 Build 19042.746

Explorer almost looks like Win7, if I remember that correctly.

Steps taken to resolve:

Tried Repair Windows using Media Creation Tool, all methods failed direct, ISO, USB.

Set up new User Administrator Account but this has same problem with Explorer.

Used the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool steps:
DISM Check Health OK
DISM Scan Health OK
DISM Restore Health failed:
Error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found.


Then tried
sfc/scannow
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.


Still no resolution.


Then tried a proper Clean Boot, not solved.

Also reset Windows Update components manually, no new Updates.

I don't want to to go the full Reset Windows if that means deleting programs/apps, although if that's the only solution, I may consider.
BUT I don't want to go through the whole 'start a whole new Windows' from scratch, lose programs & their settings, if THAT doesn't solve Explorer.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Ribbon missing in the task explorer, the libraries and also the text which appears on the title bar are also missing.

Please let us know the troubleshooting steps that you have performed to assist you better.

Meanwhile, I suggest you to follow the steps below.

To Show Ribbon in File Explorer for Your Account from QAT. Right click or press and hold on an empty area of the Ribbon tab bar, and click/tap on Minimize the Ribbon to check it. (see screenshot below)
