I need help my windows explorer is eating a lot of ram. I see on task manager 2 windows Explorer process is running and one of them is eating my ram. it slows down my pc and its annoying me. I tried ending the process... it didn't work. I tried running sfc /scannow command but it didn't find any corrupted files. I tried restarting my computer but it didn't work also. I tried checking if "launch windows explorer in separate windows" is on but its off. I need help I use this as my school laptop and I don't want windows explorer hogging my ram. Hope someone helps.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
