Windows 10: Windows Explorer freezing

My windows explorer windows 11 has been freezing despite trying literally everything under the sun to fix. My drivers are all up to date, ive ran SFC scans multiple times. nothing out of the ordinary, I've changed how it interacts with the PC switching the windows explorer settings from This PC to Home, cleared the cache, one I haven't done was revert to a previous version of windows that's because i literally do not have the option, its really getting old having to reset the file explorer every few minutes because something messed up which wasn't at fault of me. Windows Explorer Replacement?

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
