  1. Windows explorer restarting every 1 after windows update.

Since ~12th October 2020, any time I run a windows update it causes windows explorer to be unable to stay open, I'm left looking at a black screen with the taskbar flashing as explorer restarts again and again. I've tried booting in safe mode and uninstalling my display drivers, I've tried restarting multiple times, I've tried updating the graphics card driver before the windows update. I've tried uninstalling anything else recently installed. And most recently I tried disabling windows updates all together, but Windows 10 being Windows 10 it found a way to download them then make me unable to restart or turn off my PC without installing them.

The only thing I've found that fixes the issue is a system reboot, but as it takes ~an hour and I have to do it every 2-3 days I'm getting sick of it.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
