Windows 10: Windows File Explorer crashing when making right mouse click after having selected a file

I am not experiencing for a while a specific failure on Windows File Explorer, which limits a lot of my productivity.


Always, when I select a file in the Windows Explorer window and make a right mouse click, then the blue wheel comes for a few seconds and the Windows Explorer is crashing. I have then to restart the Windows Explorer and find another way how to the desired action.


Usually after selecting a file and you do the right mouse click a window should open, where you can select certain functions, e.g. print, cut, paste, zip, etc. This window is not opening in my Explorer is shutting down.


Following Version: Windows 10 Home with 10.0.17134.858

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

thats wierd... iv never had a large file crash explorer before....


and i have files ranging upto 80GB...

 

mouse right click will not open my file explorer in taskbar

• What happens when you left clicking?
• When you say right click, do you actually mean left click?
• Which all troubleshooting steps have you already tried to resolve this issue?

Left clicking with mouse will open File explorer or any other programs. Whereas right click will give you context menu.

I suggest you to right-click on the File Explorer
on the task bar and select Unpin from Taskbar. Now in the search bar type
File Explorer and right click on it and select Pin it to Taskbar
and check if it helps.

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

So I downloaded project reality a mob for BF2 I used uTorrent to download the file and it check to make sure it wasnt corrupt.

Everytime I try to do anything with the file windows explorer hangs and I have to restart it.

This is the same for the old version of project reality. I cannot delete it.

I have never had this happen.

The files in question are 1.8 GB
