    Windows freezing and then CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED reset and new install


    I have just did a full reset on my Lenovo Legion Y540 and then reinstalled windows with usb and now it will sometimes launch into windows login screen, but will shortly freeze and then I get blue screen with "critical process died". I am not sure what to do since I can't test safe mode or anything. Any help appreciated.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

    had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

    Thanks for the response. My NVIDIA driver version is 30.0.14.7111. My computer usually boots fine, fyi, it just crashes randomly afterwards.

    I'll try running memtest and crystalmark today. I don't have much experience with them, are there any specific settings I should set when running those tests?
    I have no handyman skills and had no success with the commonly recommended rubber band method, so I honestly doubt I'll ever be able to get them out myself. The duct tape method sounds interesting though, what is it?
