    Windows has no option to disable "align to grid" in folders?


    Has Windows truly disabled the ability to allow folders to float freely within a file system?This had been around since the 80's on my Mac Plus. In 2023, you can't arrange folders how you WANT?This can't be real.You really can't understand why people would want to organize folders by POSITIONING them in space, like the way you can on a desktop?You DISABLE THE OPTION and call that an IMPROVMENT???

    Win 10 Update disables align to grid option

    Just bought a new Dell XPS with Windows 10. All updates installed. Align to grid feature on Desktop View no longer gives option to disable 'align to grid...despite being unchecked.' Icons are bounced around when they are dragged far left/right/strong textup or down.

    Alignment grid

    Minimize all open windows and apps. You can use Win + D or Win + M shortcut keys. ...

    Right click the empty space on your Desktop and select View - Align icons to grid. This command will toggle the Align icons to grid feature.
