Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43 which affected my GTX 780 graphics card with the driver update. reinstalling driver and rollback did not work. Diagnostics of all hardware came out all hardware was in good working order. and error code happened IMMEDIATELY after update of the graphics card. Forum states it's a known "power management problem". In the meantime, many programs cannot be accessed as a result. Since Microsoft windows 10 is "preventing" another screen came up stating this its a software issue. Everyone I have tried to get to help me including nvidia said oh well you need a new graphics card... sure shell out 300-2100.00's instead of fixing the problem? No thank you.


I am fortunate that I have a well built computer Alien-before Dell took it over with all the diagnostics inside, just in case of such an emergency. Which stated ALL HARDWARE IS WORKING PROPERLY.

I hate when techs tell you - you need something when you DON'T! But in the last 4 days I have experienced a vast array of very competent and unfortunately incompetent tech help. Turns out as of today I was told the "engineers" at microsoft are working on it and are aware of the problem since the update was made on Thursday 2-25-21 -


Anyone having same issue since the recent update?

Windows 10 / Nvidia 1030 - Code 43

After a Windows (Win 10 Home) update yesterday afternoon my son's PC reported the problem shown in the image below.




The result of this means he cannot play the very popular "Fortnite" game which reports this error.





Assuming the problem is caused by either the Windows Update or a driver update have done the following;

• Re-installed the latest Nvidia Driver. This didn't fix the problem.
• Installed the previous set of Nvida Drivers. This didn't fix the problem.
• Via the Control Panel / Device Manager I disabled and enabled the device. This didn't fix the problem.
• Via the Control Panel / Device Manager I used the "update driver" feature. This didn't fix the problem.
• I did a system restore to the day before. This did not complete with Windows reporting the Anti Virus software may have prevented the process. Default Windows Defender is the AV.
• I disabled the AV and tried system restore again. This didn't fix the problem.

In all other areas the system is functioning fine although my son said he had low FPS on Rainbow Six Siege which he tried to play when Fortnite wouldn't launch.

The PC is just over a week old so I am doubtful of any hardware issues with no other symptoms or errors showing.

So...any ideas or suggestions for next steps please?

The error code 43 with error message: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems., might have occurred because: One of the drivers controlling
the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner.

As you have already performed the Hardware and devices troubleshooter and updating the drivers could not fix the issue, I suggest you to uninstall the existing Nvidia drivers as they might be corrupted and re-install them.

• Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select Device Manager.
• Locate and expand Display adapter.
• Right-click on the Display adapter that is listed and click Uninstall.

Restart the computer and download, install the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website.
