  1. Windows Hello Face says cannot locate camera; event viewer faulting module...

So I have a desktop PC of my own construction. Gigabyte Mobo. I7-4790, 16GB RAM nVidia 1050Ti(4GB). Windows 10 Home with most recent update 2004 but this problem has been on going for months. I have a working logitech webcam. It is properly detected by Windows Camera and literally every other windows program like discord, skype and OBS, but any and all attempts to use Microsoft Hello Face results in a window that pops up for a flash and a screen that says it could not locate a camera. That pop up window that flashes off is probably an error window but it goes away too quick.

I tried all the online suggestions about resetting DISM using sfc /scannow and they find both no errors and result in no changes to this issue.

A little further digging in the event viewer and I see a red exclaimation mark and this:

Faulting application name: BioEnrollmentHost.exe, version: 10.0.19041.423, time stamp: 0xecace87b

There is no information whatsoever about this in relation to the hello face not finding the camera because of this module faulting with that execption.

Search engines keep pulling troll sites that want to download malware to "detect" issues. Nosiree.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? As I said so far searching online has yielded zero.

I also did the remove biometric folder "fix". It didn't help.

I am not really concerned about it. But since the feature exists I would love to utilize it if it would just detect my camera. Sure wish Microsoft would create a "troubleshoot windows face" option.

Event Viewer problem with latest Windows Build 1607

After installing the new Windows build 1607, the Event Viewer stopped recording events under Diagnostic Performance. (Before 1607 I checked the files located under Windows.old dated 9/23/2016 and located this file which indeed did have a list of events
    recorded.)

Since the initial 1607 download there have been two new builds automatically installed on my laptop.

The last step in an automatic download is the RESTART. Prior to my rebooting, I checked the Diagnostic Performance and for sure, these had the list of events.

Rebooting by me, causes the Diagnostic Performance errors to disappear.

As suggested earlier I have run the SFC/DISM commands with no errors reported.

    Any Ideas?
