  1. Windows Hello fails to work with Logitech Brio 4k Stream Edition Webcam

From the earlier forums, it's apparent that the webcam works for a while until a Windows Feature update messes up the functionality. This is the error I see when I try to set up Windows Hello: "Couldn't turn on your camera. Make sure it's working properly."OS: Windows 10 ProVersion: 10.0.19044 Build 19044Running Update 21H2

Logitech BRIO not working with Hello after upgrade

Just upgraded to Creators Update (1703) and there were no errors during the install but now my Logitech BRIO camera is not working with Windows Hello.

I can see the camera listed in device manager with no errors and it works in Skype but at the logon screen it says that no camera is available. I tried turning Hello off and on again but that didn't help. Also tried different USB ports but that didn't help either.

There is a Logitech KB about this but it didn't fix my issue:

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

Does anyone have the Logitech BRIO webcam?

If so, how well does Windows Hello facial recognition work with it for you?

My old Creative/Intel Realsense F200 webcam died on me, and was looking at this one for a replacement.

Windows Hello fails to work with Logitech Brio 4k Stream Edition Webcam

    Hello Face ID not working

I just got the Logitech Brio 4K Stream Edition working with the current Windows 10 Hello face sign-in.
    Here the critical steps.

First, update the firmware to the latest version.
    ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/cameras/Webcams/LogiBrioStreamFWUpdate_1.3.14.exe

By the way this location is far too hard to find! The Logitech support website could definitely use a facelift...

If you happen to have the Brio Pro webcam, then respectively it is this update:
    ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/cameras/Webcams/BRIOFWUpdate_2.2.50.exe

There are only very slight differences between these two Brio webcams, but they use completely different firmware.

Second key point, make sure Device Manager is showing ALL the following entries.

    1. Biometric devices
    Windows Hello Face Software Device

In my case I had lost this device somewhere along the way. Fortunately these steps brought it back:

    Press Windows key + R
    Type: rstrui.exe
    Hit Enter

This will start the system restore wizard. Choose a restore point more before the problem started.

    2. Imaging devices
    BRIO 4K Stream Edition

    3. Sound, video and game controllers
    Logi 4K Stream Edition

    4. Universal Serial Bus controllers
    BRIO 4K Stream Edition

The only Logitech software that I installed is the Camera Settings. Current versions appears to be 2.12.8. It is useful for adjusting the views and controls, but is not really needed for face ID to work.
Downloads - BRIO 4K Pro Webcam

Some folks have reported that the webcam must appear or must be moved to Cameras section, but apparently this is not necessary. I did not have to switch the driver to USB anywhere either.

If still seeing a problem, try the camera on another Windows 10 computer. That can save a lot of time, rather
than trying to fix a possibly seriously broken Win 10 installation.

Last point - is it all worth the trouble? Definitely ;-)
