Windows 10: Windows Hello PIN creation not working

This problem began after I was able to switch email accounts for my Microsoft account on my new computer. When I first made my computer, the Microsoft account I used to create a User profile with was I'll call it here email 1. I was able to easily make a PIN for this email/User login and everything was working fine.

Later, because email 1 was not an email I wanted attached to my Microsoft account, I switched email 1 with a different email, I'll call that email 2. Once I started using email 2 what is now my current Microsoft account email I noticed that I could not longer make a Windows Hello PIN. When I go to Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-In Options and click "Add" under Windows Hello PIN, it take me through the normal set up window. However, after clicking next it shows this:





Any suggestions as to what is wrong with my computer or my Microsoft account and how to fix it? I have already scoured the web and other Microsoft Community posts and found that there is a folder you can modify that would keep old PIN number, and I have already deleted that, but the same window as shown in the picture keeps popping up. Otherwise as far as I have discovered, my problem is much more unique than what people have created guides for online.

• How are you setting the PIN and Hello?
• Which build version of Windows is your PC running on?
• Were there any error codes or messages?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to set up PIN.

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.

Unable to setup Windows Hello, error: incorrect pin

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

May I know the complete error code or error message that you are receiving when you try to setup Windows Hello?

Do you have any other user account on the computer?

If yes, does Windows Hello work on that account?

If Windows Hello is not setup on other account, please setup it up and check if it works so that we can narrow down the issue for you.

I suggest to remove the pin and setup a new pin on the child account and check if it works with Windows Hello.

Please follow the steps below to remove and re-add the PIN:

• Press Windows logo key + I to open Settings.
  
• Select Accounts.
  
• Click on Sign-in options.
  
• Under PIN, remove the pin. There will be prompt to enter password, enter the password and removed the PIN.
  
• After the pin is removed, please click on
  Add to setup pin for the account.
  
• After setting up a new PIN, try to set up Windows Hello.
