Windows 10: Windows Hello Pin Currently Unavailable

Since I have had my laptop, I have always used a PIN instead of my Microsoft Login. Today, I noticed that if I want to change my pin, I see the following:




I was able to delete the NGC file, but I then had no PIN and still could not create one. I changed my account to a local account and created a PIN. I then switched back to a Microsoft account and before it finished, it offered me the option to have a PIN on my Microsoft account, so I said yes and got my old PIN back on my Microsoft account. However, the initial problem still remains...I get the same error that Windows Hello Pin is unavailable. Can this be fixed?


Another problem that may or may not be related is all of a sudden, the option to use my sign in to restart apps is grayed out.

Win10/HP Pavillion - PIN "unavailable"

Using Win10 on an HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop

PIN went away. Now when I go into create a PIN I get "Something went wrong. Try again later". The step prior is: Start.>Settings>Accounts>Sign in Options>Windows Hello PIN and it reads "This options is currently unavailable - click to learn more". I
followed the steps suggested, but they don't work

Suggestions?.

 

Windows Hello Pin currently unavailable

I am running windows 10 home version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 (version 1909).

Under "sign in options" in preferences there is a "Windows Hello PIN" that says "this option is currently unavailable. It gives me the option to remove my PIN; I have done so. Subsequently I have redone my PIN (worth noting a 6 vs 4 digit PIN mandatory
now). It also says "something went wrong, try again later".

I like to require sign in when the PC wakes up from sleep. The "learn more" is not helpful. Two months with a PC and issues already. Cant say I am a fan.

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to ascertain why my window hello pin login has stopped working. It used to work fine after every wake up from sleep but now it is not working.

Please help - other sign in options are unavailable as well. I need to have a secure log in for my desktop.
