    windows hello will not dismiss lock screen when it recognizes me. I need a keystroke shortcut


    I need a keystroke shortcut- the settings are not working. It will not recognize my pin to log in, but does when I try to update windows hello. But the lock screen will not dismiss even though I have it turned on. I've tried to go back to a prior version when it did work, still is not working. Keystroke shortcut will probably solve it.

    Like my title says. I had an update last week and after that Windows hello recognizes me but doesn't dismiss lock screen. I have to swipe up and type in my pin so it unlocks. I have checked the settings as I read to check the "Automatically dismiss the lock
    screen if we recognize your face" and that's on. I deleted my face recognition and set it up again and that was no help.

    If it helps anything my computer is an Alienware 15 R3 7th gen i7-7700HQ, Windows 10 home 64 bit and GTX 1070.

    Hi Miguel,

    It could be that the settings for Windows Hello to ask the password was changed that is why it is not dismissing the lock screen. Some users have resolved this by checking the settings and making sure that Windows is required to use a password "every time"
    and not every 15 or 30 minutes. It would be possible that if the settings are set with certain minutes, the system would wait for that time before it dismisses the lock screen. We suggest in checking this setting to see if it helps.

    Hello - I am having the same problem. I just got the new update and I am running windows 10 Version 1709 & OX Build 16299.192. This problem happens at boot up(need to enter pin even though computer recognizes me) and when locking the computer (windows recognizes
    me but I need to click the screen to dismiss lock screen when it should do it automatically).

    Please advise.
