Windows 10: Windows immediately signs out after signing in

Hey guys,


For many months, I have been stuck on Windows release 1809 due to a troubling issue. Any time I have tried to upgrade to 1909, or to the current 2004, I have run into an issue where, following the update, if I put my PIN in to log in, it successfully accepts the PIN but immediately shows the "Signing out..." after. I have tried a variety of solutions I've seen online, and in the past have eventually had to just undo the update to get things working as normal again. Since 1809 is nearing end of life, I feel that I no longer have the luxury of avoiding the problem.


It seems worth noting that I am able to successfully log in if I boot the computer in safe mode and safe mode with networking. The folders under `Users` on my machine are "Public", "postgres", "DevToolsUser", "Default", and "Brandon" This is the one I use and have my files on. I've read some posts claiming the problem stems from a messed up NTuser.dat file, but can that be the case if safe mode starts up fine?


Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Windows 10 upgrade immediate issues with desktop Sign-in password

Sorry for the delay in response. Try these steps:

• Try disconnecting the cable from the Internet:

• • If there is a Wi-Fi icon on the sign-in screen, click it and go to Airplane mode.
    
  • If there is a wired connection, disconnect the wire.
  • If sign-in is successful, let us know in the comments!
  • Also, we can then change to a local account, restart, and re-connect to the MSA.
    
  • If this works, please let us know!

2. Try sign-in on another device (phone or PC) via the
https://account.microsoft.com page.

• If the sign-in is unsuccessful, stop and handle it like any other password issue.
  
• If sign-in is successful there, don’t try resetting/changing the password, continue to the next step.

3. Try using the On-Screen Keyboard to sign in on the PC.
4. If that fails, make sure the PC is connected to the Internet (the connection icon should be visible in the lower right).

Hi,

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• On the right side, you will see required sign in.
• Change it to Never.
